The Proposed Operating Budget for Fiscal Years (FY) 2013-14 and 2014-15 and the Five Year CIP for FY 2013-14 through 2017-18 are now available for review. The Proposed Operating Budget lays out a financial plan to balance appropriations and estimated revenues for each of the next 2 years.  The Proposed CIP provides a 5-year financial plan to address City infrastructure and development needs.

The Ruggieri Senior Center will be hosting a comprehensive “need to know” information fair designed for seniors, their families and Caregivers. It takes place on Saturday, May 18th from 10am to 2 pm at the center located at 33997 Alvarado-Niles Rd. We encourage seniors and their families to play, explore and connect to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The 4th Annual Four Seasons of Health Expo for Adults 50+, seniors, and veterans will take place on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Fremont Multi-Services Senior Center and Central Park, 40086 Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont.  Hosted by the Tri-City Elder Coalition and City of Fremont Human Services Department, the Expo is one of the largest health fairs in Alameda County. Nearly 100 vendors are registered.

As part of the City’s on-going social media and community engagement efforts, we have launched Nixle to inform residents, businesses, and visitors about Union City Police Department communications. Nixle is a provider of mass notification services for public safety and is used by over 4,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide. Union City tennis players please note that two popular tennis courts will be closed for resurfacing. The courts at Veteran’s Memorial Park will close May 27 thru June 10, 2013. The Arroyo Park tennis courts and Mariner Park basketball court will close June 10 thru June 20, 2013. Thank you for your understanding.
