| How to Apply for a City Job
For your convenience our Employment Application is now available online. Please read the entire instructions before you begin.
Download an Application Form You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and complete the application form. If you find that don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, you must download it (available free from Adobe) and follow the instructions on the Adobe site to install it. The form fields are configured so that you can type in your information while the application is open on your computer monitor. Please complete the employment application carefully. The entire application must be completed along with supplemental questionnaires (if applicable to the position for which you are applying). You may attach a resume, but you must still completely fill out the application.
Print, Sign and Mail/Deliver your Application.
Print the completed application on your local printer. Please check that all sections have been completed. Check carefully for errors. If you find any, go back and correct them before reprinting your application. Affix your signature the application where required. If the position you are applying for requires that you include other supplemental materials, they must be attached to the application when you deliver or mail it to the city. Mail or deliver your completed, signed application and supporting materials to: City of Union City Personnel Department, 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, California 94587 Applications must have a current DMV printout, H.S. diploma or equivalent, and typing certificate attached or they will be rejected and a resubmission will be required.
Application deadline Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. of the date posted on the job announcement to be accepted for review. Postmarks cannot be accepted. We regret that late applications cannot be considered.
