California High Speed Rail

The California High Speed Rail Authority is planning a high-speed rail train from the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento to Los Angeles.  Over 700 miles in length, the new statewide train system would be serviced by trains capable of traveling at speeds up to 220 miles per hour. The travel time from Union City to Los Angels would be 2 hours and 13 minutes.  A trip to Sacramento would only take about 43 minutes.

Union City is identified as a stop in several of the alternatives being evaluated in the Draft Bay Area to Central Valley High-Speed Train Program Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement.  Click on the following links to learn more about the High-Speed Rail alternatives and how to comment on the Draft EIR/EIS.”
