The Union City Fire Department (UCFD) is committed to providing quality health care and services to all of our customers. UCFD operates a fully integrated system, utilizing dual-role firefighters in the delivery of fire and emergency medical services to a culturally diverse and vibrant population. Approximately 70% of the 911 responses in Union City are for medical emergencies.

Of the 44 line personnel, 24 are certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and 20 are licensed Paramedics who provide Advanced Life Support (ALS). ALS activities include physician level procedures such as endotracheal intubation, intravenous fluid and drug therapy, cardiac pacing and defibrillation, and advanced emergency trauma treatment.
