Summer Job Openings with Leisure Services
Looking for a summer job? How about working as a lifeguard, water safety instructor, day camp or playground leader or as a sports aide? These are just some of the positions Union City Leisure Services seeks to fill as it gears up for another busy and fun-filled summer of day camps and other recreational programs. Deadline to apply for most positions is April 1st.
Census Complete Count Informational Meeting

The City of Union City and the Human Relations Commission invite you to attend an informational meeting that will focus on reaching the “hard-to-reach” in our community. It takes place on Monday, March 15 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Ruggieri Senior Center, 33997 Alvarado-Niles Road in Union City. There will be a presentation by a representative from the United States Census Bureau and a time of discussion by those attending on how best to achieve the most complete count possible for the City of Union City. It is especially important for leaders in the Faith-Based Community and members of Community-Based Organizations to attend this meeting. United States Census 2010 is vitally important to our community.

Early Bird Summer Camp Sign-up Night
Mark your calendar and get a head start on planning your child's summer vacation! Join us at the Union City Leisure Services Early Bird Summer Camp Sign-up Night on Wednesday, March 24 from 6 to 8 pm at the Holly Community Center, 31600 Alvarado Blvd. This is a special opportunity to preview and register for day camp programs before regular registration begins. 3rd Annual Young Artists Faire

Entries are now being accepted for Union City's Third Annual Young Artists Faire. This event is open to residents of the Bay Area who are between 5 and 19 years of age. All forms of art will be judged, including photography, painting (water color, oils), sculptures, ceramics and more. All entries must be received by Wednesday, March 11th. Unused Medication Drop Off
In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of improper disposal of medication, Washington Hospital has partnered with the Union Sanitary District to offer Tri-City area residents a convenient, safe and environmentally sound option for disposing of old medications. Drop off your old meds at the Nakamura Health Clinic, 33077 Alvarado Niles Rd in Union City.
Need Computer Assistance?
The Union City Leisure Services Senior Program is now offering drop-in computer and electronics assistance on Monday afternoons at the Ruggieri Senior Center. Local high school students will gladly help you to better understand your computer, cell phone, digital camera or iPod? No weekly commitment, come by any week. Come join other members of the Union City community (free of charge) to learn how to better prepare and survive the next disaster.  Please call the Union City Fire Department at (510) 675-5470 to enroll in the (CERT) Community Emergency Response Team Spring Class (20 hours over 4 consecutive Saturdays)  

The Artful Steps Program's Art Show
The Artful Steps Program for special needs individuals is proud to announce a very special art show. The multi-media group show by the artists of the program is scheduled from February 16th through March 16th at Paddy's Coffee House, 3900 Smith Street.
