Old Alvarado - Cesar Chavez Park Smith & Watkins Streets
Union City, California 94587
The Smith Street entrance to Old Alvarado/Cesar Chavez Park is lined with rows of purple agapanthus. This park has numerous trees, plants, and other greenery.
This park was re-dedicated in 1999 to include the name of Cesar Chavez, the well-known Hispanic farmworker union organizer and advocate for the poor.
The park is known for its wooden gazebo, which stands in center of the park and has been used for special events and weddings. A delicate small fence encloses the park.
A large grass area adds size and open space to this family park. Additionally, the park has 3 reservable picnic sites, a grass volleyball court, a basketball court, horseshoe pits and restrooms.
