This park is named for Manuel “Shorty” Garcia who lived in the Decoto neighborhood and served on the City Council for many years. Shorty was instrumental in having the World War II Veteran’s Monument moved to Kennedy Park.

Shorty Garcia Park is the home of two full- sized soccer fields. These fields back up against Guy Emanuele School to provide grass area for children to play during school hours and soccer fields for both adults and youth on weeknights and weekends.
