Union City's annual Sharing the Arts show is all set for June 7th through July 12th. Paddy's Coffee House in the Old Alvarado district will once again showcase beautiful and inspiring work by local artists. Items on display we be available for sale. A very special reception is planned for Friday, July 11th at 7:00 pm.

Family Night Out at the Pool

Special Needs Health and Fitness Expo

Fifth Annual Fall Festival of the Arts Set for September 28

Union City's Fifth Annual Fall Festival of the Arts is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2008. Once again it is being held at Old Alvarado/Cesar Chavez Park. This year's event will include art, crafts, food, wine, entertainment, live music, dance, golf tips and more. To reserve booth space, download the booth space application.

Annual Film Festival Seeks Entries

filmcamEnter the Fourth Annual Paddy’s Film Festival! This film festival is open to all aspiring film makers who would like to share their work. The festival is open to all themes, which include but are not limited to documentary, animation, comedy, drama, foreign, etc. There is no fee to enter. Films will be shown on Friday evenings during the month of September.

New! Scholarships for Afterschool Program

noneUnion City Leisure Services is now accepting applications for full scholarships to the Club Une afterschool program. Scholarships are available only for eligible low income students from Barnard White, Cesar Chavez and Alvarado middle schools. Applications will be processed on a first come/first served basis, and will be accepted at Kennedy Community Center, Holly Community Center and City Hall.

Lineup Set for Summer Concert Series 2008

taste.of.cultureBack by popular demand, it's the Summer Concert Series and Farmers Market. Every Saturday between June 21 and August 23, Old Alvarado/Cesar Chavez Park will be the place to be for great sounds, healthy fresh produce and a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Union City's award-winning Leisure Services department provides recreation and leisure services to the entire community. Recently honored by the California Park and Recreation Society, UCLS operates the Holly Community Center, Kennedy Community Center, Ruggieri Senior Center, Sports Center, Teen Center, Teen Workshop and, in the summer, the Dan Oden Swim Complex.

UCLS offers a wide variety of programs designed to meet the needs of children, teens, adults and seniors in our community. Programs include fee classes; summer, winter and spring day camps; after school middle school programs; youth sports; aquatics; arts; tot time; senior lunches; community gardens; volunteer recruitment and special needs programs for people with physical and mental disabilities.
