Union City residential property owners pay for minimum of weekly curbside collection of Garbage, Organics and Recycling through assessments which appear on the property owners annual property tax statement. The fees for these standard collection services are based on weekly collection of a 35-gallon Garbage cart, a 96-gallon Organics cart, and a 64-gallon Recycling cart.
Annual Assessments for Single Family Households (3-cart weekly service)
Garbage and Organics (includes Storm Water Program)
The Recycling assessment includes a $1.50 per month Recycling Processing Surcharge. The assessments equate to a combined $54.37 per month cost to Single-Family homeowners for weekly collection of the three (3) carts. This monthly cost also includes twice annual Bulky Items Pickup service.
Parcelized Multi-Family Rates
Parcelized Multi-Family properties (e.g., townhomes, condominiums) will pay for weekly collection of two (2) carts (i.e., Garbage and Recycling, not Organics) based on the following proposed annual assessments. This monthly cost also includes twice annual Bulky Items Pickup service.
Annual Assessments for Parcelized Multi-Family Households (2-cart weekly service)
Garbage (includes Storm Water Program)
The FY 2021-22 rates combined equal $41.20 per month for Parcelized Multi-Family homeowners, including the Recycling Processing Surcharge. This monthly cost also includes twice annual Bulky Items Pickup service.
