Household Hazardous Waste

Household hazardous waste (HHW) is any hazardous waste generated from owning or maintaining a residence. It includes paints, solvents, varnishes, acids, flammables, acrylics, and resins. The most safest and most convenient way for Union City residents to properly dispose of HHW is to take them to a certified HHW drop-off facility.

HHW Facilities

There are two HHW facilities in Southern Alameda County (in the cities of Fremont and Hayward). For more information on HHW, you can also visit the Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste website.
