Union City recently completed an update to its Zoning Ordinance to incorporate new development standards in order to achieve high-quality design. The Objective Development Standards Project establishes objective design and development standards for zoning districts that allow multi-family and/or mixed-use development as a permitted or conditional use. Objective standards provide property owners and developers with greater predictability and will help streamline the development review process.
The new standards were adopted on September 26, 2023 and go into effect October 26, 2023.
A User's Guide for the new standards is in process and will be posted to this website once completed.
