2023 NNO Logo trans bgUnion City's Neighborhoods are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide to observe National Night Out (NNO) - America's Night Out Against Crime (NNO) on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

This night promotes police-community partnerships; crime, drug, and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity. NNO, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, now involves over 38.5 million people and 16,500 communities nationwide, from Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.

NNO is designed to:

(1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;

(2) Generate support for, and participate in, local anti-crime efforts;

(3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;

(4) Send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

This year, Union City Police Department will be hosting one location in the Union Landing Shopping Center.

We will have activities, music, food, and entertainment. UC patrol officers, members of the UCPD, California Highway Patrol (CHP), Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), and city officials will be in attendance.

Take advantage of the opportunity to check our specialty vehicles like our: SWAT truck, Mobile Command Vehicle, Drones, Robots, and many of our other first responder vehicles too.

All sponsors will be recognized by having their company name and logo advertised on the Union City PD's– National Night Out social network platforms and the flyers we distribute.

Please note that the deadline for confirming sponsorships has been extended to June 30, 2023. In order to guarantee that company logos are featured at the event, they must be submitted by the same date.

Due to limited resources, UCPD will not be able to travel to individual neighborhood block parties this year.

We invite you to join us to participate in National Night Out 2023 to show the community that partnerships can build bridges and foster a safer community. We will be observing the latest CDC and State COVID-related guidelines and updates for our event. We recommend that you do the same if you have a block party that night.
