SHOOTING AND ROBBERY

Recruiting image for BlotterOn Friday, July 7th, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery near James Logan High School. The victim was selling a sweater and met a potential buyer near the school. When the victim arrived, he was assaulted by two unknown subjects wearing ski masks. The two suspects fled in a gray car with the victim's property and were not found by police.


ROBBERIES AND ATTEMPTED ROBBERIES 

On Friday, July 7th, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery near James Logan High School. The victim was selling a sweater and met a potential buyer near the school. When the victim arrived, he was assaulted by two unknown subjects wearing ski masks. The two suspects fled in a gray car with the victim's property and were not found by police.

On Sunday, July 16th, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in the 1700 block of Decoto Road. Two suspects entered the store and walked out with three cases of beer. A loss prevention employee attempted to stop them, and one suspect threw a bottle of wine at him. The suspects fled in a stolen vehicle that was driven away by a third suspect. As the suspects fled, they ran a red light and collided with a city bus. All occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and were not located. The suspects were three Black male juveniles, 15-20 years of age.


ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON  

On Wednesday, July 5th, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a fight in the 1700 block of Decoto Road. Witnesses reported seeing security officers fighting with the suspect inside the store. Upon arrival, officers determined the suspect was the aggressor and at one point, threw a gallon of milk at the victim's head. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for assault.


WEAPON BRANDISHING  

On Tuesday, July 4th, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a weapon brandishing on Randall Court and Granger Avenue. The victim told police that he and the suspect were in an argument over fireworks and that the suspect pulled a firearm and pointed it at the victim. Officers arrived and contacted multiple individuals at the scene. The victim identified one of the detainees, and officers placed him under arrest.

On Thursday, July 6th, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a weapon brandishing on Union Square and Decoto Road. Employees from the business called to report a homeless person was threatening staff with a knife and aggressively prowling the parking lot. Officers contacted and arrested the suspect without incident.


DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

On Wednesday, July 5th, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle collision on Mission Boulevard and Whipple Road. They contacted the driver, who admitted to drinking alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests, officers arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES

From Monday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 16th, there were six residential burglaries reported.

COMMERCIAL BURGLERIES

From Monday, Monday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 16th, there were five commercial burglaries reported.


AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS

From Monday, Monday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 16th, there were twelve reported auto burglaries. One occurred at Union Landing, and the rest occurred in residential areas.

From Monday, Monday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 16th, there were twenty reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, ten of the vehicles have been recovered.
