On Monday, July 24th, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on Union Square and Decoto Road. The victim was sitting in her car when she noticed a vehicle stopped directly behind her. An unidentified male suspect approached her driver’s side door holding a gun. The victim pulled away and attempted to get away from the male suspect, and the male fired approximately nine rounds, striking the victim’s vehicle several times. The victim was not injured, and the suspect fled in his car.

On Tuesday, July 25th, at approximately 9:54 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Appian Way. The caller heard several impacts on the exterior of their home and located bullet holes and spent projectiles on the ground. Patrol units responded and determined that a black SUV drove into the cul-de-sac, and an occupant fired four bullets at the residence, then fled.

ROBBERY ATTEMPT

On Monday, July 26th, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery attempt in the 100 block of Decoto Road. The suspects entered the business, tried stealing a case of beer, then battered the clerk when he tried to stop them. They fled in a blue vehicle. The suspects were two Black males, 18-21 years old, 5'9", 145 pounds. The driver was a Black female, 18-21 years old, 5'7", 160 pounds.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON  

On Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 11:08 a.m., officers responded to the area of 12th Street and G Street to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they contacted an adult male, who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Officers found the suspect in the area and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon.

On Sunday, July 23rd, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an assault in the 1800 block of Decoto Road. The victim, who happened to be a fruit vendor, told police that an irate female approached him and began yelling. Due to a language barrier, the victim did not understand what the female was saying to him. At one point, the female picked up a chair and struck the victim in the head with it. She also vandalized the victim's fruit cart and stole a fruit cup. Officers located the suspect nearby and arrested her for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.

Officers found the suspect in the area and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon.

BURGLARY 

On Tuesday, July 18th, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers responded to a commercial burglary in the 700 block of Bradford Way. Employees arrived for work, interrupted the burglary, and quickly called the police. Officers arrived moments later and found the suspects attempting to leave with the stolen property, worth several thousand dollars. Officers arrested two adult males for the burglary and towed their getaway car.

On Thursday, July 27th, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers were flagged down in the 32000 block of Alvarado Niles Road regarding a burglary. Multiple witnesses pointed out the two individuals involved, so officers detained them. Officers later determined the two subjects unlawfully entered a room, then fled after being seen by employees. Upon further investigation, the two individuals were found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle and had multiple warrants; as well as suspected narcotics and paraphernalia. Both were positively identified and placed under arrest.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

On Thursday, July 20th, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers conducted an enforcement stop on E Street and 7th Street. Upon contact, the driver displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, officers placed him under arrest for driving under the influence.

On Thursday, July 27th, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers contacted the driver of a vehicle asleep at the wheel in the 32400 block of Dyer Street. The driver displayed objective signs of alcohol intoxication and after some tests were conducted, he was arrested for driving under the influence.

On Friday, July 28th, at approximately 10:49 p.m., offices conducted a traffic stop on a reckless driver in the 31300 block of Alvarado Niles Road. The driver displayed objective signs of alcohol intoxication and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

On Sunday, July 30th, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to the report of a woman yelling for help on Claremont Street and Cameron Drive. They contacted a female operating a golf cart with two passengers on board. The driver flipped the golf cart, and the rear passenger was ejected, suffering a minor head injury. A second passenger suffered a compound fracture. The driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested for driving under the influence.

VEHICLE THEFT ARREST  

On Monday, July 17th, at approximately 12:19 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 30100 block of Industrial Parkway and contacted a subject removing items from a car. He noticed damage to the ignition, so he conducted a VIN check and determined the vehicle was stolen. He placed the female under arrest for possession of stolen property.

On Saturday, July 22nd, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers were investigating a theft in the 31200 block of Courthouse Drive. While driving through the parking lot, they saw a subject enter the driver compartment of a vehicle, then quickly exit and flee on foot after noticing officers in the area. A check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen, so officers chased the subject and placed him under arrest for possession of the stolen car and resisting arrest.

On Saturday, July 29th, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to the 32000 block of Alvarado Niles Road to investigate the report of a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers found the car and arrested the occupant for possession of stolen property. The vehicle was returned to the owner.

DRUG POSSESSION 

On Saturday, July 29th, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers contacted a subject at Arroyo Park. The subject was determined to be on probation, and during a search of his person, 22.6 grams of methamphetamine was located. The subject was cited and released, and the drugs were booked as evidence.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES

From Monday, July 17th, to Sunday, July 30th, there were two residential burglaries reported.

COMMERCIAL BURGLERIES

From Monday, July 17th, to Sunday, July 30th, there were eight commercial burglaries reported.


AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS

From Monday, July 17th, to Sunday, July 30th, there were twenty-two reported auto burglaries. Five occurred at Union Landing, and the rest occurred in residential areas.

From Monday, July 17th, to Sunday, July 30th, there were twenty-one reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, five of the vehicles have been recovered.
