Professional Standards Unit

Our Professional Standards Unit (PSU) operates under the Support Services Division and consists of a Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Confidential Operations Assistant. Our unit is dedicated to conducting thorough, timely, and impartial investigations of alleged misconduct. 

The internal investigations process allows our organization to ensure best practices within our industry by investigating any perceived conflicts related to our actions, policies, procedures, or legislation. All internal investigations undergo several layers of analysis to verify all investigations are accurate, unbiased, and fair. The investigation process may identify opportunities for growth and development, or it may identify successful and positive actions taken by members of UCPD. Furthermore, the process allows UCPD to evaluate practices related to our training methods and daily operations within our organization.
