The Field Operations Division is comprised of numerous units/programs to ensure the safety of our community. The largest and most frequently encountered component to the Field Operations Division is our Patrol Division. Our Patrol Division is responsible for 24/7 response to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Other units consist of our Crisis Response Unit, K9 Unit, Traffic Unit, Dispatch Services, and Animal Control. Please click on the below links to learn more about the different Units.
Newly added to the Department this year is District Policing. We are excited to introduce and implement our District Policing plan to our community. District Policing is a Policing Management style in which the city is split into four smaller geographical areas, known as Districts, to enhance and improve the effectiveness of police operations. Each District will have an assigned police manager, a Patrol Lieutenant known as a District Commander. The District Commanders will be responsible for, Understanding Crime Trends, Identifying Critical Infrastructure, Developing Crime Suppression and Deterrence Strategies, and Development/Management of Community Engagement efforts.
