The City has launched its second round of funding for its COVID-19 Response Grant Program, adding approximately $300,00 in additional assistance for Renters and Small Businesses. In total, the Program aims to distribute approximately $742,000 in grants funds and forgivable loans to the community to respond to the impacts of COVID-19.
Residential Rental Assistance Program
- Approximately $166,000 of Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and CARES Act funds are remaining for distribution through the rental assistance program for Union City renters affected by the loss of income due to COVID-19.
- Program will pay for up to three consecutive months of back rent (up to $5,000) for households earning up to 80% of area median income.
- Application window opens Monday, March 15, 2021 and closes on Monday, March 29, 2021.
Road to Recovery Small Business Assistance Program
- Approximately $245,000 of Federal CARES Act funds are remaining for distribution through the Small Business Assistance Program for businesses impacted by COVID-19.
- Eligible expenses include past due rent, mortgage, or utilities for up to three months of assistance in arrears.
- Application window opens Monday, March 15, 2021 and closes on Monday, March 29, 2021.
