The Metropolitan Transportation Commission will conduct a nightly full closure of I-880 in the southbound direction at West A Street and between Winton Avenue and State Route 92, starting Sunday night March 17, 2019 at 11:59 PM until Thursday morning, March 21, 2019 at 4:00 AM and Sunday night March 24, 2019, at 11:59 PM until Wednesday morning, March 27, 2019 at 4:00 AM.
Northbound I-880 lanes 1 and 2 will also be closed from just south of State Route 92 to just north of West A St. starting Sunday night March 17, 2019 at 11:59 PM until Thursday morning, March 21, 2019 at 5:00 AM and Sunday night March 24, 2019 at 9:00 PM until Wednesday morning, March 27 at 5:00 AM.
Full southbound closure schedule is as follows:
Advance warning changeable message signs, detour signs and construction crew flaggers will be in place to assist motorists. California Highway Patrol will be on site during nightly closures. This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if necessary. Motorists are advised to expect delays. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and Slow for the Cone Zone.
Detour details of the southbound closures are as follows:
West A Street
SB I-880: traffic traveling SB on I-880 will be diverted off the highway at the W. A Street exit ramp. Traffic will travel straight across W. A Street and re-enter the highway using the southbound W. A Street on-ramp.
