    If you are interested in a future in law enforcement, here is an opportunity to become a Police Explorer for the Union City Police Department. As an Explorer, you will be exposed to the basics of law enforcement. You will be provided valuable work experience through ride-alongs, assignments in traffic control, security, evidence, searches, and much, much more. This is a wonderful opportunity to become involved in law enforcement. Becoming an Explorer allows you to learn about law enforcement from the people who do it every day.   4. Minimum Qualifications
    You must be at least 14, but not older than 21 years old. You must have a legitimate interest in law enforcement. You must be attending school, either high school or college, and maintain at least a "C" average. You must demonstrate a high level of responsibility and maturity. A record of school disciplinary issues or habitual criminal activity may be grounds for disqualification from membership. You must have the ability to furnish the required uniform at your own expense. The Union City Police Explorers meet weekly on Wednesday evenings. You will be expected to attend meetings regularly and show an interest in learning. You will also be expected to volunteer for various community and law enforcement related events throughout the year.

    Complete the Application for Membership and Supplemental Application Information. If you are under 18 years of age; your parent or guardian must approve and sign your application. If you wish to apply, or if you have any questions about the program, please contact the Union City Police Department Explorer's Post 298 Advisors at (510) 471-1365.
